Gambling racket smashed in three places, 48 held

With the arrest of 48 persons, the Shahdara District police has busted gambling in three places. They have been booked under Delhi Gambling Act, said police.

During the course of investigation, it has been revealed that all the accused were gambling through slips in Geeta Colony, Vivek Vihar and Seemapuri.

In Geeta Colony, accused Satish is the owner of the gambling den. He gave attractive offers to customers to earn 90 times of the betted amount. 

Nitin, Saksham, Jitender and Gopal were his accomplices and the other 13 persons were gambling through slips.

In Vivek Vihar, the owner of the premises is the bad character of the area. Efforts are being made to trace him. In Seemapuri, Jaswant was the kingpin, said the police.
