New Delhi, August 20

Flights at IGI Airport were halted as a “drone like object” was spotted by an IndiGo jet pilot.

According to a senior official, while the pilot was flying in the vicinity of a domestic airport, he spotted the drone and reported the matter to the Air Traffic Control (ATC).

Around 2 pm in the afternoon the pilot of an IndiGo flight saw the drone-like object in the sky approximately 3 nautical miles from the runway, said an official.

According to the pilot, he saw the flying object 900-ft above the ground just a few minutes after the take-off.

A few months ago a similar incident was reported when a pilot of another IndiGo airlines flight from Dehradun had told authorities that he spotted a drone some 100 m below the aircraft, while landing at Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport in Mumbai.

It was revealed that a drone camera was being used to prepare a film shoot. Three persons were arrested in this matter.
