New Delhi, March 28

Putting Manjit Singh GK’s face on front, the Shiromani Akali Dal president, Sukhbir Singh Badal, have called all the elected candidates of the Gurdwara committee at his residence to choose the name of executive board members to be voted tomorrow in general house meeting that was to be presided over by the director of the Delhi Gurdwara Elections (DGE), Shurbir Singh, sources in the committee said.

The DGE director has called the meeting to elect pro tem chairman, president, and other office-bearers and executive members of the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC), the sources said.

This is the second meeting called by the DGE. The first meeting was called on March 24 in which DSGMC president Manjit Singh (GK) was elected as pro tem chairman. GK had postponed the election of other members for March 28 after differences in the senior party leaders. But the meeting could not be conducted due to the reasons best known to the concerned authorities. This is the second meeting to be held tomorrow.

The sources said that GK was not interested to take Sirsa in the committee as general secretary on the ground that he is contesting MLA election from Rajouri Garden. He wants one man one post. Future of Sirsa will be finalised in the tomorrow meeting to be attended by senior party leaders Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa, Prem Singh Chandu Majra and BS Bunder.

The sources said as Sirsa is considered to be close to Badal, the party high command will try to adjust him in a better position but it all depends on Manjit Singh GK as he was party face in the DSGMC election held last month.
