New Delhi, January 12

Today again trains on Delhi Metro's Blue Line came to an abrupt halt after losing contact with the Operational Control Centre (OCC), the nerve centre of the vast network, due to power failure, triggering long delays and public outrage.

This has happened on the second consecutive day.

The DMRC has issued an apology to the commuters through a video statement posted on its website.

Sharing details, chief spokesperson Anuj Dayal said at Operation Control Centre, Metro Bhawan, the view and control of the signalling and Automatic Control System (Blue Line) was lost due to power failure at 11.28 am.

However, the power was restored at 11.32 am and at 11.43 am, full control resumed by the OCC and restoration of IDs began for all trains on Blue Line one by one.

He said that by 12.20 pm, restoration of train IDs got completed and gradually normalcy restored on the entire line.

He said centralised operation of the trains was not possible during the period as trains IDs were lost. Every interlocking station of line three and four were told to operate trains at local (station) level.
