New Delhi, April 25

Highlighting dismal representation of women in the Delhi Police, the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) today issued a notice to the Delhi Police to ascertain staff strength pattern of Delhi Police.

Pointing out that only 9 per cent police force is female the DCW has sought implementation of orders of the Ministry of Home Affairs on 33 per cent reservation for women in the Delhi Police.

“Information has been sought about gender-wise, rank-wise staff strength as well as number of female investigative officers with details about unit and police station concerned. On perusal of the replies the commission will prepare a report and submit the same to the Central government,” said an official.

“Cases perused and case pendency on each investigative officer since January 1, 2016, to determine workload also sought,” said the official.
