New Delhi, October 8

The Leader of Opposition in Delhi Legislative Assembly, Vijender Gupta, has demanded precautionary measures to protect people from swine flu. In a letter to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Health Minister Satyender Jain, he demanded that the government should make all possible arrangements to save Delhiites from the deadly disease.

He has sought orders from the government for considering all aspects of the flu and making arrangements for its treatment. The government should nominate hospitals and special advertisements should be issued in electronic as well as print media to create public awareness.

Spread of diseases like dengue, malaria, chikangunia is common almost every year. If the government takes timely measures, untimely death of people can be avoided. After dengue, the menace of swine flu is looming large on Delhi, he said.

Gupta said that the three Municipal Corporations of Delhi will take all possible steps to save people from the disease.
