CM announces Rs 25,000 for victims of Jamia Nagar fire

NEW DELHI: Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today announced Rs 25,000 each for those whose shanties were gutted in a fire in Jamia Nagar, Southeast Delhi, yesterday.

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today announced Rs 25,000 each for those whose shanties were gutted in a fire in Jamia Nagar, Southeast Delhi, yesterday.

He also assured to make schooling arrangements for the children residing in the slum.

The announcements were made by Kejriwal during his visit to the area where he met the victims.

"Rs 25,000 each will be given to those whose shanties were burnt. We will also make arrangements for the education of children," the Chief Minister said.

He also said necessary documents which were destroyed in the fire will be issued again by the government.

Yesterday, around 80 shanties were gutted in a fire in a slum in Jamia Nagar. 

Though nobody was injured in the incident, several people were rendered homeless.
