A man, Anshuman Puri, resident of Sarita Vihar, who is a music composer, is missing since Saturday night around 3 am after a speeding Toyota Etios car hit his Harley Davidson bike on the DND Flyway and he fell in the Yamuna river, said DCP (South east).

Eyewitnesses told police that the speed of the car was so fast that the errant driver could not stop his car even after hitting the motorcycle, and continued to drive while the rider was stuck to its bonnet. As the driver pulled brake, the rider fell off the bridge into the river.

As per the DCP, Puri’s house is found locked and his neighbours told that he had been living alone.

Bhappa Singh, resident of Goyala Dairy (Qutub Vihar), is the registered owner of the car. His house was also found locked. Neighbours stated that Singh lives in Canada but his daughter and son-in-law used the car, he said.

The car-driver has not been traced yet. Search operation is underway for Puri at the river, DCP added. — TNS
