Car collision with standing truck kills 3, injures one

In a fatal accident on Mangolpuri flyover, a car collided with truck in which three persons were killed and one seriously injured, who has been admitted at the Jaipur Golden Hospital. The accident happened on intervening night of June 23-24, said police.

A truck bearing Rajasthan number was stood on the downhill side of the fly-over where a Toyota car bearing Delhi number was found crushed, which had collided the truck from backside, police said.

The truck had brought marbles to Delhi at the time of incident, the truck was standing on the road but no parking light or other precaution was taken, said police.

The deceased are residents of Ekta Apartments of Paschim Vihar. On June 22, Harvinder Madan (52) along with his wife Bharti Madan (50) and two others — Satya Ranjan (50) and Gurvinder Singh (42) — had gone to Firojpur (Punjab) to seek blessings of some Godmen. On returning, their car hit the standing truck, said police.

The four victims were taken to hospitals by different police vans and three were declared brought dead. Singh resident of Nihal Vihar is seriously injured and seeking treatment in the hospital, said police. Police were sent to their homes at once after checking of various documents in the car, they said.

An FIR has been registered at police station Mangolpuri and efforts are being made up to nab the driver Raju, said police. — TNS
