New Delhi, April 21

Aam Aadmi Party national convener and Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today accused the BJP of trying to cover up its “corruption and misgovernance” in the three municipal corporations by projecting the name of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the run-up to the April 23 civic polls.

Kejriwal also warned people against voting back BJP and Congress to power in the civic bodies saying the onus will only lie on them if Delhi is left caught up in the mess of dengue and chikungunya again.

“Congress is finished. Don’t waste your votes by voting for it. The voting for the BJP, a party that has not been able to clean Delhi in the last ten years, will only worsen the plight of the city. If you vote for BJP and tomorrow your child suffers from dengue/ chikungunya, you will alone be responsible for voting dengue and chikungunya party (BJP),” said the AAP chief while reiterating his party’s promise of cleaning Delhi in one year and wiping out vector-borne diseases in three years, if elected.

Kejriwal accused the BJP and the Congress of snapping power and water supply lines in parts of the city to “deliberately harass” people. He asked the rival parties not to "stoop" to such low-level of politics.

“Over the last few days, complaints have come of disrupted power and water supply. People from BJP and Congress have stolen oil from electricity transformers at 70 locations in Delhi. They are doing such things deliberately to affect the services, by stealing valves of water pipes, blocking sewer lines with cement,” claimed the Chief Minister.
