New Delhi, January 19

State BJP president Manoj Tiwari has welcomed the decision of Election Commission of India recommending disqualification of 20 AAP MLAs accused in office-of-profit case and has said that it is a moral defeat for Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

Demanding resignation of the Chief Minister, Tiwari said though he welcomed the decision, but simultaneously regret that the Election Commission of India allowed undue adjournments to AAP MLAs which had cost dear to the people of Delhi.

Taking advantage of ECI’s long adjournments these MLAs affected the development work in the city. Taking advantage of this delay the AAP has succeeded to send three members to Rajya Sabha and in the process has also sullied the image of Rajya Sabha. The state BJP stands prepared for elections any moment, he said.

BJP-SAD MLA Manjinder Singh Sirsa said the decision would lead to probity in public life and this decision should be hailed by all justice loving people. — TNS
