The Central government has approved the introduction of National Capital Territory of Delhi Laws (special provisions) second (amendment) Bill, 2017, giving protection to unauthorized constructions till formulation of policies for orderly arrangement of slums, regulation of street vendors and unauthorized colonies.
The Bill will be tabled before Parliament to extend the provisions of the National Capital Territory of Delhi Laws (Special Provisions) Second Act, 2011 for a further period of three years from January 1, 2018 to December 31, 2020, a statement issued by the Ministry of Urban Affairs said.
The law will also give relief to villagers, including those in urban villages and their extensions, farmhouses, schools, dispensaries, religious and cultural institutes, storages, warehouses, godowns built on agricultural land, the statement said.
