New Delhi, May 16

Aam Aadmi Party today termed the reported Delhi Police’s arrest of an accused in the mob assault case on minister Imran Hussain as a  “mere eyewash” aimed at misleading the court.

Tomorrow, Tis Hazari court is going to hear the application moved by Imran Hussain.

The party claimed that the police, under directions from BJP’s LG, has done nothing in three months since the assault took place on the minister in full public view on February 20 and the said action is only a ploy to distract the court’s attention.

The manhandling of Hussain and his staff at Delhi Secretariat took place a day after Delhi Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash was allegedly assaulted by some ruling party lawmakers in the presence of CM Arvind Kejriwal at his Civil Lines residence.  — TNS
