The capital hosted the seventh Asiad Literature Festival which saw few engaging sessions, including an “Ode to Peace & Mahatma Gandhi....” to promote Gandhian views and remember the contribution of the peasant movement of Champaran and Sabarmati Ashram in freedom movement.

The festival, which also delved into the importance of Indian literature and entrepreneurship in making of the new India, was organised by an NGO, Bharat Nirman.

“We are following double standards in case of women in our society, which constitutes 50 per cent of our population,” he said while stressing the need for making the full use of women force to make the country strong. – TNS
