17-year-old boy beaten to death

NEW DELHI: A 17-year-old Class 11 boy, Gaurav, died after he was allegedly beaten up by a group of students, who have not been caught yet, in Jyoti Nagar area.

A 17-year-old Class 11 boy,  Gaurav, died after he was allegedly beaten up by a group of students, who have not been caught yet, in Jyoti Nagar area.

A murder case has been registered. Some students are being questioned. The cause of death will be ascertained after autopsy is done, said a police official.

Gaurav had come to school to take his transfer certificate (TC) with his mother Sumitra Devi. For some reasons, it was getting late to retreive the TC. Gaurav made his mother go back home as it was too hot.

After a while, some boys came and took him to a nearby park on some pretext. And there he was beaten badly. The boys fled the spot leaving Gaurav unconscious, said the official.

His cousin, studying in the same school, informed his mother and brother about the incident. They took him to a nearby hospital, where he was declared brought dead, said his brother Govinda. 

Manipuri boy killed in assault

In the early morning, police received an information regarding assault of a Manipur boy, said police.

According to DCP Chinmoy Biswal,  on the ground floor of the house in Bhagwan Nagar, some blood clots and stains were found and the boy, with head injuries,  taken to the hospital, wher he died during the treatment.

He was identified as Suihami Khangah by his brother, a resident of Manipur.

It was found that deceased, his brother A.S. Shunreiwung and his cousin Lei Shingham were residing in the same rented flat, he said. All three were working in call centres at Noida and Gurugram. Today Shingham has assaulted Khangah over the issue of withdrawal of some money by Khangah from Shingham's account. — TNS
