A day after the draw of lots for issuing temporary licences to sell crackers, the city witnessed no business as traders remained busy fulfilling formalities the entire day.

Cracker sellers said they got the permission at around 5 pm after fulfilling all formalities. They could start pitching tents at the Hafed ground in Sector 5, the site designated by the Panchkula administration for sale of crackers, in the evening only. They would start selling crackers from tomorrow, a cracker seller said. 

This time, the administration has issued total 35 licences for the entire Panchkula district. These included 13 in Panchkula, 10 Kalka, five Pinjore, three Raipur Rani and two each in Barwala and Ramgarh.

The administration had received a total of 273 applications, including 130 for the city.
