Mohali, May 14

While two students from Yadavindra Public School are tricity toppers  in the ISC Class XII, there are others who excelled in the exams.

In humanities , Tanya Ahuja stood first in Mohali with 97 per cent marks and Preetkaran Singh bagged the first position with 90 per cent marks in commerce.

Tanya, whose parents are teachers, wants to be an IAS officer. “I chose humanities with a purpose in mind. I devote more than six hours to studies daily,” said Tanya. Besides studies, Tanya plays football in her free time. “I was part of the school’s soccer team which had participated in the IPSC football tourney,” said Tanya, who is the editor-in-chief of school magazine, ‘Oracle’.

Preetkaran Singh is all set to leave commerce and opt for humanities. He has got admission to British Columbia University to pursue psychology.

“I had opted commerce, but later I realised that it was not my cup of tea,” said Preetkaran Singh, son of an advocate father and a teacher mother.
