High drama was witnessed outside the Panjab University gate after two youths allegedly thrashed a girl and forcibly took her in a car on Tuesday evening. The police were informed following which an investigation was initiated. 

Sources said a PU employee, who was crossing from Gate No. 2, saw two youths having an argument with the girl. One of the youths slapped the girl. The youths then forcibly made the victim sit in a car bearing a Haryana registration number and escaped from the spot. “We have got the registration number of the vehicle, which is being verified,” said a police official. 

A daily diary report (DDR) has been lodged in the matter at the Sector 11 police station. — TNS
