Youth, brother-in-law die as boulders hit their bike

SHIMLA:A youth from Zirakpur and his brother-in-law from Mani Majra were killed on the spot after rolling boulders hit their bike near the Kashang nullah, about 10 km before Reckong Peo in Kinnaur district, this morning.

A youth from Zirakpur and his brother-in-law from Mani Majra were killed on the spot after rolling boulders hit their bike near the Kashang nullah, about 10 km before Reckong Peo in Kinnaur district, this morning.

The tourists were on their way to Kaza in Lahaul-Spiti when the tragedy struck, said SP, Kinnaur, Sakshi Verma.

Boulders rolled down from a mountain when a group of tourists was passing through the area, a witness said.

The deceased have been identified as Ishan Sharma of Baltana in Zirakpur and Sunil Kumar of Mani Majra. The bodies were sent to the Reckong Peo Regional Hospital for postmortem and relatives of the deceased informed, said police sources.
