Patiala: NCC cadets of Guru Nanak Foundation (GNF) School, Patiala, celebrated International Day of Yoga at GCG, Patiala, under the guidance of school principal Renu Hanspal. NCC cadets of the NCC Group of School were headed by CO Asim Tandon of the 4 PB Battalion, who also participated in this event. Tandon appreciated the efforts of the cadets for their participation and served refreshments to the cadets for joining the events. The cadets performed different asanas, beneficial for maintaining good health.

Police DAV Public School

International Day of Yoga was celebrated at Police DAV Public School, Patiala. The school management organised a yoga session for students during which objectives of Yoga Day were discussed. Students performed different asanas under the guidance of their sports teacher Himanshu Sood. School Principal Meena Thapar addressed the students, encouraging them to know the science of yoga deeply and concentrate on their physical health along with mental well-being.

Rayat-Bahra Institute

The Patiala Campus of Rayat-Bahra Institute observed International Day of Yoga on its premises. All faculty and staff members of the Rayat-Bahra Patiala Campus, including Campus Director and Directors-Principals of all departments, took part in this event. Yoga trainer started the day by explaining the importance and benefits of yogic exercises and meditation. Participants performed pranayama, physical exercises and meditation. Campus director Piush Verma said the yoga postures strengthen the body and create a feeling of well-being and happiness in the mind. Chairman Gurvinder Singh Bahra appreciated the activity being performed on the campus and said yoga is an invaluable gift of India’s ancient tradition. OC
