Chandigarh, June 22

Officials of the Chandigarh Administration had to face the wrath of Union Health Minister JP Nadda for not following the protocol during his visit to the city on the International Day of Yoga. Sources said Nadda had expressed his displeasure at not getting the schedule of the yoga day function at the airport.

As per the duty assigned by the Government of India to union ministers, Nadda was asked to attend the function in Chandigarh.

When he arrived at the airport on Tuesday evening, he asked Amit Talwar, Additional Secretary, Transport, for the schedule. The official did not have a copy at the time.

Sources said Talwar apologised and assured the minister of making a copy of the schedule available by the time they reached Himachal Bhavan.

When the matter reached the higher officials, Anurag Agarwal, Home Secretary, Ajit Balaji Joshi, Deputy Commissioner, and other senior officials rushed to meet Nadda at Himachal Bhavan on Wednesday morning saying such things won’t happen again. Amit Talwar said he had apologised to the minister for not carrying the schedule. The Home Secretary said he had met the minister and explained everything to him. He added that the issue had been resolved.
