World Cup: Four held for betting in Mansa Devi

PANCHKULA: The police have raided a house in Sector 4, Mansa Devi Complex, and arrested four persons for betting on the ongoing ICC World cup matches.

The police have raided a house in Sector 4, Mansa Devi Complex, and arrested four persons for betting on the ongoing ICC World cup matches. The police have recovered Rs 4,000 and mobile phones from the suspects, identified as Sahil, alias Monny, Ravinder Kumar, Rakesh and Pankaj, all residents of the same area.

The police said following a tip-off, they raided the house and found the four suspects placing bets through their mobiles on the West Indies-England match yesterday. A laptop, four mobile phones and Rs 4,000 were recovered from the suspects.

The Chandi Mandir police registered a case under Section 13A of the Punjab Gambling Act 1867.
