Woman dies of swine flu

Dera Bassi: A 63-year-old woman of Dera Bassi died of swine flu on Thursday. In Zirakpur, three persons have already susccumbed to the deadly virus in less than a month. Nine have been tested positive.  The health authorities said 63-year-old Narinder Kaur, a resident of Sadhu Nagar, Dera Bassi, was undergoing treatment at Indus International Hospital. She was admitted to the hospital on September 11. OC

Couple booked for cheating

Zirakpur: A couple from Bhabat village has been booked on the charge of cheating a resident of Karnal by allegedly selling his property. The police registered a case on the compliant of Rajesh Gupta, a resident of Karnal. In a complaint to the police, Gupta alleged that he had invested in a property at Shiva Enclave in Zirakpur. He further alleged that during the process, he came in contact with the couple, who allegedly sold off his plots. OC
