Woman alleges rape, Mohali cops register Zero FIR

MOHALI: A 20-year-old married woman of Mullanpur has alleged that she was raped by a person of Mandi Gobindgarh. She approached the local police to register a Zero FIR in this regard.

A 20-year-old married woman of Mullanpur has alleged that she was raped by a person of Mandi Gobindgarh. She approached the local police to register a Zero FIR in this regard.

The victim, who got married in Mandi Gobindgarh, alleged that the suspect, who was a relative of their neighbour there, took her to some secluded place and raped her after giving her some intoxicants.

According to the police, the suspect, Gurdip Singh, was known to the victim. The matter came to light when the victim reached her parents’ house in Mullanpur and narrated her ordeal.

Inspector Rajesh Astheer, SHO of the Mullanpur police station, said after registering a Zero FIR here, the case was forwarded to the Mandi Gobindgarh police for investigation. — TNS
