Woman alleges rape by father

Kharar, November 23

A married woman of a Kharar village alleged that she was raped by her father. The woman has been admitted to the Civil Hospital in Kharar. Balongi SHO Bhagwant Singh Riar visited the hospital and recorded her statement. The victim was married in December 2016.

Her husband told the media that after two months of their marriage, her father continued to insist on taking his daughter with him. When he resisted, he was even threatened with dire consequences. He said his wife was studying at a college in Chandigarh due to which she lived with her parents. He said two days ago, his wife had met with an accident and he went to her parents’ house to inquire about her health. At that time, his wife told him that she was raped by her father repeatedly. — OC
