Wife, paramour among 3 arrested for man’s murder

A day after a 35-year-old man was stabbed to death, the police have arrested three persons, including the victim’s wife and her 20-year-old paramour.

Complainant Amit, a resident of Vikas Nagar, Mauli Jagran, had told the police that a few persons had escaped after stabbing the victim, Laxman Kumar, on his head. The incident was reported from near the Vikas Nagar bridge.

The victim, a resident of Sunder Nagar, Mauli Jagran, was taken to the Government Medical College and Hospital, Sector 32, where doctors declared him brought dead.

During the investigation, the police found that the victim’s wife had taken him to the murder spot.

Following the investigation, victim’s wife Seema, her paramour Virender, alias Ajay (20), a neighbour of the victim, and a juvenile have been arrested in the case.

The police said the victim’s wife, along with her lover and his accomplices, hatched a conspiracy to eliminate the victim.

“The suspects have admitted that they murdered Laxman,” said a police official. The police have recovered the weapon used in the crime.

The police said raids were being conducted to nab three more suspects, who were at large. While the juvenile has been sent to Juvenile Home in Sector 25, the remaining two suspects will he produced before a court on Wednesday.
