Wheel thieves on the prowl, target yet another car in city

CHANDIGARH: In yet another incident of wheel theft, two alloy wheels and tyres of a car parked in Sector 21 have been stolen.

In yet another incident of wheel theft, two alloy wheels and tyres of a car parked in Sector 21 have been stolen. Five such incidents have been reported in the recent past. However, the UT police have failed to nab the miscreants.

According to the police, complainant Asim, a student of DAV College, reported that he had parked his Toyota Glanza near his house on November 27. The next day while he was about to go to the college, he found that two right side wheels had been stolen. The police were informed, who registered a case at the Sector 19 police station.

At least five incidents of car wheel theft have been reported in the past two months.

While two wheels each of two Maruti Ciaz cars were stolen while these were parked outside houses in Sector 16 and Sector 38 on the intervening night of October 30 and 31, another incident of car wheel theft was reported from Mani Majra on the intervening night of November 2 and 3. The complainant, Jaspal Singh, a resident of the NAC, Mani Majra, said all four wheels of his new Honda City were stolen from outside his house. Meanwhile, two wheels of a Baleno car were stolen from Sector 44 on the intervening night of November 19 and 20. — TNS
