Water leaks as MC sleeps

Is wasting potable water not a civic issue? It seems that the Municipal Council (MC) authorities are in deep slumber as water can be seen flowing on to the road from a tap in front of shop No. 24 at Chandigarh Enclave in Zirakpur for three hours every morning (see pic). Residents lament sheer negligence of water wastage and apathy on part of the civic body.

Nab real accused

This refers to news report “Man loses Rs 36K to ATM fraud” (Chandigarh Tribune, September 21). Another hapless city resident fell prey to a debit card fraud after Rs 36,000 was siphoned off from his Canara Bank account. Should the bank not be held responsible for its failure to prevent such frauds? Let us hope that the city police come to the victim’s rescue by apprehending the culprits.
