Vigilance teams today visited grain markets to check ongoing procurement process and moisture in paddy grains. Vigilance officials from the office of the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) visited grain markets in Barnala, Sangrur and Patiala to check problems faced by farmers during lifting, weighing and checking of moisture in paddy grains. 

The teams comprised senior officials, including Superintendent of Police (SP), Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Inspectors and technical personnel. Farmers apprised teams about problems being face by them, including change in time for proper lifting of grains and display of rates on board.

The Vigilance teams checked weight of sacks and moisture in grains. Later, officials also directed procurement agencies to begin lifting process from 3 pm instead of 4 pm.
