VC unfurls Tricolour

Prof Raj Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, Panjab University, unfurled the national flag at the parade ground on the varsity campus on the occasion of the Independence Day.

The VC said relieving the university from financial crunch would be one of the priorities.

Mentioning Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said his motto inspired them to consolidate their vision and efforts to achieve the goal.

He said the motto would help them in taking the PU to greater heights.

He said completion of the pending projects would be on his agenda and providing better facilities to students, faculty and the entire PU fraternity would be one of his primary goals.

The programme saw a march past ceremony by the PU security ex-servicemen, PU security guards, NCC cadets and students of Ankur School.

Awards were presented to the NSS, NCC cadets and volunteers. The VC presented a vote of thanks.

A cultural programme for the day was not held in the wake of the demise of Chhattisgarh Governor and former Punjab deputy CM Balramji Dass Tandon.
