UT police file factual report on defamation case against Sukhbir

CHANDIGARH: The UT police today filed a factual report in the local court on the complaint moved by Rajinder Pal Singh, spokesperson, Akhand Kirtani Jatha, against former Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal for making defamatory statement against him.

The UT police today filed a factual report in the local court on the complaint moved by Rajinder Pal Singh, spokesperson, Akhand Kirtani Jatha, against former Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal for making defamatory statement against him.

Pal had alleged that Badal had made scurrilous and defamatory statement against him and had stated that AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal, who was on his political visit to Punjab, had breakfast with the spokesperson of Akhand Kirtani Jatha, which is a political front of biggest terrorist outfit Babbar Khalsa International, and the same was published in various newspapers and telecast on a channel in January 2017.

Pal had further stated Badal allegedly made such statements repeatedly in political rallies.

The factual report filed by Sub Inspector (SI) Jaspal Singh, incharge Sukhna Lake police post, mentions that during the course of inquiry statement of the complainant and Badal were recorded. The complainant supported his complaint, but Badal denied the allegations levelled against him.

Allegations ‘correct’: Report

The SI in his report has mentioned that during inquiry, he got the news reports verified from the newspapers and found that all news were correct. It was also verified that the statement made by Badal was also telecast by a channel.
