UT Home Secy gets 3-month extension

Chandigarh: The Ministry of Home Affairs has given three-month extension to UT Home Secretary Anurag Aggarwal. The UT had sought an extension for him citing paucity of officers in the UT. The three-year tenure of Aggarwal ended on January 11. The appointment of the new Home Secretary is pending with the Centre, which will have to choose an officer for the post from the panel sent by Haryana. The names on the panel are Bijendra Kumar, Arun Kumar Gupta and Amneet P Kumar. Meanwhile, the UT has made a minor reshuffle in the departments of officers. Kuljit Paul Singh Mahi has been given the responsibility of Additional Secretary, Local Government, while Uma Shankar Gupta will look after the work of Additional Secretary, Food and Supplies and Consumer Affairs and Legal Metrology, besides his routine work.
