UT constable attempts suicide in Sector 17

Chandigarh, December 11

A UT constable tried to commit suicide by hanging himself at his house in Sector 17 this morning. The constable was rescued and admitted to the PGI.

Sources said the victim, Yogesh Kumar, was posted in the technical cell at the Police Headquarters, Sector 9.

The police said soon after Yogesh attempted suicide, his wife, who was in the adjoining room, saw him raised the alarm.

People who were present outside the house rushed to the rescue of the victim, who was taken to Government Multi-Specialty Hospital (GMSH), Sector 16, from where doctors referred him to the PGI. The Sector 17 police are looking into the matter. TNS
