Upbeat Minerva face Mangalore test

Minerva Punjab FC will face Football Club, Managlore, in their final fixture of the AIFF Hero Elite League on January 23 at the Navelim Ground in Goa. 

In the playoff round, Minerva FC, who topped the Punjab Zone, were placed alongside Real Kashmir, MSP Football Academy, Kahaani Football Club and Football Club, Mangalore. 

Minerva played a goalless draw against Real Kashmir, followed by a 5-0 win over Kahaani Football Club, Ahmedabad. 

Thoiba (3rd, 75th) and Suraj (48th, 71st) scored a brace each, while Chote (80th) struck once for the side.

In their third match, Minerva Punjab FC registered a 3-0 win over MSP Football Academy. Abhishek scored the opening goal in the 38th minute, while Lunitinmang doubled their lead in the 50th minute. Denzil scored the third goal for the side in the 68th minute. 

With back-to-back wins under its belt, Minerva Punjab FC is a strong contender to qualify for the national finals.
