Chandigarh: The police have booked unknown persons for sexually harassing girls by calling at the call centre of an automobile dealer. Complainant Vineet Sharma of CM Auto sales, Industrial Area, Phase I, reported to the police that unknown persons repeatedly called on the telephone numbers of their call centre and abused the attendants. The number from which the calls were made was provided to the police.  A case has been registered. TNS

Banned injections seized

Chandigarh: The crime branch of the UT Police arrested a person with 20 banned injections. The accused, identified as Sunny, a resident of Mohali, was arrested from Sector 56. A case against has been registered. TNS 

Man loses 16K to fraudsters

Chandigarh: Two unknown persons cheated a Sector 44 resident. Victim Harish Chand, who works at a dhaba in Sector 44, alleged that two unknown persons took Rs 16,000 from him at a bank in Sector 34. A case has been registered. TNS 

Snatcher arrested 

Chandigarh: The police arrested a Mohali resident for snatching a mobile phone from a Sector 34 resident at the Sector 43 bus stand. The accused has been identified as Manjit, a resident of Phase XI. Sudhir Malik, who had come from Himachal Pradesh, was going to the local bus stop to catch a bus for Sector 34 when the accused snatched his mobile phone and fled. Malik gave the accused a chase and some passersby also helped him nab Manjit. A case has been registered at the Sector 36 police station. TNS 

Man hit by train, hurt 

Kharar: Thirty-year-old Satnam Singh, a resident of Peer Sohana village, suffered serious injuries after being hit by a train on Thursday night. ASI Jagdev Singh, in-charge, railway police post, Kharar, said he was taken to the Civil Hospital in Kharar, where doctors referred him to the PGI. TNS
