Two youths were killed in hit-and-run cases in Chandiarh and Mohali.

A 26-year-old youth was killed after being hit by an unknown vehicle on a slip road in the Industrial Area, Phase I, near the Tribune roundabout last night.

According to the police, the victim has been identified as Sagar. The victim was found lying injured on the slip road after which he was rushed to the Government Medical College and Hospital, Sector 32, in a PCR vehicle where doctors declared him brought dead.

The police said the victim was a native of Ambala and worked at Elante Mall.

The victim’s kin were informed about the incident today, who reached the city. A case has been registered at the Industrial Area police station.

Mohali: A 22-year-old youth was killed while his friend, who was riding pillion, suffered serious injuries after an unknown vehicle hit their motorcycle on Tuesday. The deceased has been identified as Jaahid Mansoor, a native of Srinagar. Sources said he was staying in a rented accommodation in Mohali. He was going on his bike to TDI City with his friend, but on the way, an unknown vehicle hit them. Mansoor died on the spot while his friend was taken to the Sohana hospital by a passerby, where his condition is stated to be critical.
