Two booked for cheating Delhi resident

MOHALI: The police have registered a case against two persons for defrauding a Delhi resident of Rs 5 lakh on the pretext of investing money in a business and providing him a share in profit.

The police have registered a case against two persons for defrauding a Delhi resident of Rs 5 lakh on the pretext of investing money in a business and providing him a share in profit.

The accused have been identified as Mukesh Mariya, a resident of Zirakpur, and his partner.

Narinder Kumar, a resident of Delhi, in his complaint to the police, had stated that he had come in contact with Mahesh, who told him that they were starting a business and asked the former to invest Rs 5 lakh in a business. He told him that he would get a profit of Rs 2 lakh every year. Kumar said he gave Rs 5 lakh to Mahesh. He said the accused neither refunded his principal amount nor gave him a share in profit. The Phase 11 police station has registered a case against Mukesh Mariya and his partner under Section 420 of the IPC.
