Two persons were arrested in separate cases registered under the NDPS Act.

The Crime Branch arrested Babu Ram of Saketri, Panchkula, for possessing 500 grams of opium. The accused was arrested near the regulatory end of Sukhna Lake. A case has been registered at the Sector 3 police station.

In another incident, the Operation Cell of the UT police arrested Jagat Singh, a resident of Kishangarh village, near Shivalik Park, Mani Majra, while he was carrying 160 banned capsules and 10 syrup bottles. Sources said the capsules were meant to be sold to youngsters in colonies.A case has been registered at the Mani Majra police station. — TNS
