Twin titles for SD School cagers

CHANDIGARH:Hosts PML SD Public School, Sector 32, and Guru Nanak Public School, Sector 36, won the boys’ and girls’ titles respectively in the CBSE Cluster XVII Basketball Tournament here today.

Hosts PML SD Public School, Sector 32, and Guru Nanak Public School, Sector 36, won the boys’ and girls’ titles respectively in the CBSE Cluster XVII Basketball Tournament here today. 

In the boys’ U-19 final, SD Public School defeated Gurukul Global School, Mani Majra, 87-71. Navjot and Jashan scored seven points each, while Sehaj added three points to the SD School’s tally. Ajmer and Aashish gathered three points each for Gurukul Global. 

St Soldier School, Mohali, finished third. 

In the girls’ U-19 category, Guru Nanak Public School registered a 49-19 win over Vivek High School, Sector 38. 

Puneet Sekhon scored four points for Guru Nanak School, while Prachi (4 points) was the top scorer for Vivek High School. 

Apollo International School, Patiala, claimed the third  spot. 

In the boys’ U-17 category, Guru Nanak Public School defeated Vivek High School 45-23 in the final. 

Harman (15 points) was the top scorer for Guru Nanak School, while Gagan added 13 points to their tally. Arnav and Arjun scored eight points each for Vivek High School. 

New Public School, Sector 18, claimed the third position. 

Learning Paths School, Mohali, humbled Saupin’s School, Sector 32, 32-21 in the girls’ U-17 final. Pearlpreet (14 points) was the top scorer for the Mohali school. 

Manav Mangal School, Mohali, finished third.

Ruhani scored 12 points as Manav Mangal School, Mohali, registered a 14-12 win over Yadavindra Public School, Mohali, in a girls’ U-14 category match at the 7th Bhagwant Singh Memorial Basketball Trophy here on Monday. Learning Paths School, Mohali, pipped Saupin’s School, Mohali, 24-23, while Vivek High School, Mohali, drubbed Ashmah School, Mohali, 16-0.
