Twin titles for Panjab University shuttlers

CHANDIGARH:Panjab University beat Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU), Rohtak, to win the men’s title on the concluding day of the North-Zone Inter-University Badminton Championship.

Panjab University beat Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU), Rohtak, to win the men’s title on the concluding day of the North-Zone Inter-University Badminton Championship.

The side also won the women’s title after beating Punjabi University, Patiala, in the final.

The PU men’s team comprised Ayush Gautam, Kartik Jindal, Hardik Makkar, Anat Shivam Jindal, Kawaldeep Singh, Lalit Dahiya (all from DAV College, Sector 10)  and Abhishek Saini (Sri Guru Gobind Singh College, Sector 26), while Shivani, Jagriti, Kawaljeet Kaur (all from Guru Gobind Singh College for Women, Sector  26) and Gauri (MCMDAV College, Sector 36) formed the women’s team. The team was accompanied by coach Surinder Mahajan and officials Bhuvan Sethi and Narinder Singh.
