Students of Tribune Model School learnt self defense techniques.

Students of Tribune Model School learnt self defense techniques. The Chandigarh Police organised a workshop on self defense to empower and aware the young girls to make themselves independent. It was a weeklong workshop. Around 75 students took part in the workshop. Constable Balram and Constable Gurmeet taught the techniques of self defense to the students. Positive motivation, right techniques and belief in oneself was the main theme to empower the students.

‘Book Tasting’ activity was organised for parents and children wherein the school library was designed as a restaurant and books of different genres from toddlers to Class VII were placed on the tables. Children ended up reading a lot of books. Happy reading badges, book marks and candies were given as take aways. A book fair was also organised in the school.

Sri Guru Harkrishan School

An interactive session on nanotechnology by Dr Raman Parkesh, Associate Professor at Institute of Microbial Technology, Chandigarh, Sector 39 (IMTECH), was held on the school campus for Classes IX to XII. He demonstrated a few practical applications of nano-scale phenomenon. Principal Harpreet Kaur proposed a hearty vote of thanks for sharing and exposing the theory and practical demonstration about nanotechnology for the young learners. — TNS
