Tribune Model girls win netball title

Chandigarh, April 20 

Tribune Model School, Sector 29, beat Sacred Heart School, Sector 26, 10-7 to win the girls’ sub-junior title on the penultimate day of the State Netball Championship at The British School, Sector 44, here, on Saturday. 

Government Model Senior Secondary School (GMSSS), Sector 20, registered a 7-1 win over CLDAV Public School, Sector 7, to claim the third position. 

In the boys’ sub-junior final, GMSSS, Sector 20, pipped Aurbindo School, Sector 27, 9-8. 

Moti Ram School, Sector 27, humbled CLDAV boys 8-4 to finish third in the tournament. 

Meanwhile, in the girls’ junior semifinals, Model Club outplayed Sacred Heart School 12-5, while British Academy registered a 9-5 win over GMSSS, Sector 20. 

Chandigarh Club drubbed Sports Complex boys 17-8 to set up the title clash with National Villagers, who downed DAV Public School, Sector 8, 14-8. — TNS
