With an aim to minimise traffic congestion in the city, the traffic will be diverted during the Dasehra celebrations in Sector 17, 34 and 46 tomorrow.

Two-hour restrictions in Sector 34

Police officials said in a bid to avoid traffic snarls in and around Sector 34, traffic restrictions would be imposed between 5 pm and 7 pm.

The road from New Labour Chowk to the Sector 33/34 light point will be closed for traffic for two hours. Similarly, one-way traffic will be allowed on the stretch from the Sector 34 market towards the Sham fashion mall in Sector 34.  “The public is requested to use alternative routes during the restrictions” said a police official.

Diversions around Sector 17

The police said in view of the anticipated heavy traffic movement during the Dasehra celebrations at the Parade Ground in Sector 17, the traffic coming from the Sector 17/18 light point, Aroma light point, Sector 18/19/20/21 light point and the Cricket Stadium chowk would be diverted between 5 pm and 6 pm.

Road to be closed in Sector 46

The police said the road from the Sector 45/46 light point towards Sector 46 will be closed for traffic between 5 pm and 7 pm.

What you should do

  • Ensure vehicles are parked at the designated lots in a proper manner
  • Vehicles should not be parked in no parking zones/roads; otherwise, these will either be towed away or clamped.
