Top seed Parth sails into main draw

CHANDIGARH: Top seed Parth Goel defeated Keshav Dangi 9-3 in the final qualifying round of the boys’ U-14 category on the second day of The Tribune State Tennis and AITA Championship Series (CS-7) Tennis Tournament here today.

Top seed Parth Goel defeated Keshav Dangi 9-3 in the final qualifying round of the boys’ U-14 category on the second day of The Tribune State Tennis and AITA Championship Series (CS-7) Tennis Tournament here today. 

Second seed Aryan Thakur also won his match with ease, beating Yashvardhan G 9-1. Fourth seed Samarbir Singh Sidhu defeated 15th seed Jivaj Chawla 9-3 and sixth ranked Sarhak Arora beat Aham Singh Cheema 9-4 to qualify for the main draw in the category.

In the men’s fourth round, second seed Anvit Bendre defeated Sahil Gaware 8-2. Rishabh Sharda defeated Keneisezotuo Whourie 8-4 while unseeded Parav Dev Garg defeated ninth seed Shaik Osama 8-6. In another upset, Krishna Teja Ankam defeated fourth seed Vilasier Khate 8-6. Qualifier Alok Aradhya defeated 12th seed Koonwar Gupta 8-6 while seventh seed Sanil Jagtani beat Sultan Singh Atwal 8-7(3).

Meanwhile, in the women’s qualifying matches, top seed Dakshata Grisihkumar Patel defeated Abhilasha Melina 8-5. Second seed Snehal Mane registered an easy win over second seed Vrinda Sharma 8-0, while fourth seed Nikita Bishnoi overpowered Sanjay Kosambi Singh 8-1. Fifth seed Aadhya Chadha defeated Kirtiarya 8-1, sixth seed Seerat Sidhu beat Sukhmani Sahota 8-3 and seventh seed Ishwari Anant Matere beat Neha Ghare 8-7(5). The main draw matches will start on Monday.
