A quick-fire century by Mohit Kumar helped Green Valley, Kharar, register an 84-run win over Warriors Chandigarh in the ongoing U-14 Gold Cricket Cup here on Friday.

Batting first, Green Valley rode of Mohit’s 87-ball 134 to score 224/1 in the allotted 25 overs. Pratham and Jaskaran scored 31 runs each for the side. 

Zaid Ali claimed the only wicket to fall in the Green Valley innings.

In reply, Warriors were all out for 137 runs in 23 overs. Gaurav Grover (28), and Pukhraj Malik (23) tried to keep their side in the hunt but their attempt was cut short by a fired-up bowling attack led by Naman, who claimed three wickets.  

Mohit and Parmish bagged two wickets each for Green Valley. 

In the second match, Master Blasters, Mohali, beat Vivek High School (A-team) by 21 runs. Chasing Master Blasters’ total of 158 runs, Vivek High boys were all out for 137. Ashutoush (63) and  Arvinder (51) scored a half-century each for Blasters.
