Three more fall prey to snatchers

CHANDIGARH: Three more snatching incidents have been reported from the city, including one in which a 56-year-old woman, who wass sitting outside her house in Sector 30, was targeted.

Three more snatching incidents have been reported from the city, including one in which a 56-year-old woman, who wass sitting outside her house in Sector 30, was targeted.

According to the police, the victim, Kamlesh, reported to the police that she was sitting outside her house today when two motorcycle-borne miscreants arrived outside her house.

Sources said the accused riding pillion got down from the motorcycle and walked up to the victim on the pretext of asking for an address. The accused then snatched her gold chain. The sources said the victim tried to chase the snatchers, but they managed to escape from the spot.

The police were informed about the incident, who rushed to the spot. A case has been registered at the Industrial Area police station. The police said they were looking for CCTV footage of the area.

In another snatching incident, a purse was snatched from a woman. According to the police, the victim, a resident of Zirakpur, reported that unidentified miscreants riding a motorcycle snatched her purse from the parking of the Sector 18 market on Wednesday. The victim was standing near a showroom when the accused escaped after snatching the purse containing a mobile phone, Rs 1,500 and important documents.

A case has been registered at the Sector 19 police station.

Yet another snatching incident was reported from Sector 21 this evening.

A miscreant riding a black Splendor motorcyle snatched a purse from a 22-year-old girl, Prachi, a resident of Sector 32. The purse contained a mobile phone, Rs 1,500 and an ATM card. A case has been registered at the Sector 19 police station.
