Thieves strike at four houses in the city

CHANDIGARH: Four incidents of house theft have been reported from the city in which thieves decamped with cash, jewellery and other valuables.

Four incidents of house theft have been reported from the city in which thieves decamped with cash, jewellery and other valuables.

According to the police, one of the theft incidents was reported from Sector 7. The complainant, Kuldeep Sharma, reported that four gold rings and a gold chain were stolen from his house. The thieves broke into the house on September 11. The police were informed following which a case was registered at the Sector 26 police station.

In another case, the complainant, Mahabir Singh, a resident of Sector 30, reported that Rs 65,000 and a mobile phone were stolen from his house on the intervening night of September 9 and 10. A case in this regard has been registered at the Industrial Area police station.

A theft was also reported from a house in Sector 45 where thieves decamped with Rs 2 lakh, silver ornaments and utensils, watches, TV and other valuables. CCTV cameras were installed at the house. However, the accused took away the DVR so that they could not be identified and caught. 

The theft was reported between September 5 and 9. The police have registered a case at the Sector 34 police station. 

A theft was also reported from a house in Sector 21 on the intervening night of September 10 and 11. 

An amount of Rs 5,000 and a mobile phone were stolen. 

The police have registered a case in this connection at the Sector 19 police station.
