Thieves call on Mohali house

MOHALI:Thieves decamped with cash and jewellery worth Rs 10 lakh from the house of Raminder Singh (63), a former Assistant General Manager of Punjab and Sind Bank in Sector 69.

Thieves decamped with cash and jewellery worth Rs 10 lakh from the house of Raminder Singh (63), a former Assistant General Manager of Punjab and Sind Bank in Sector 69. 

Raminder Singh said he had gone to Delhi for the treatment of his wife on December 1 and returned to his house in Sector 69 the next day. He said he found the locks of the main gate and the door of the house broken and immediately informed the Police Control Room.

He said the thieves took away Rs 32,000, $500 and gold ornaments, the details of which would be provided to the police soon. 

The Phase 8 police have registered a case in this regard under Sections 457 and 380 of the IPC. 

Investigating officer Rajesh Kumar said they had asked for the details of the stolen gold ornaments.
