Panchkula, April 19

Tension gripped the Mansa Devi Complex area after two bodies of unidentified persons were recovered from the area in the past 24 hours.

According to information, the police recovered the body of a 40-year-old person near a liquor vend located on the Mani Majra-Panchkula traffic light point this morning.

SHO Rajeev Kumar at the MDC police station said people had informed them about the body lying on a vacant place. A police team accompanied by forensic experts reached the site and investigated the body. However, there were no injury marks on the body, which had been kept at the mortuary of the Sector 6 Civil Hospital for identification.

Another body of a 50-year-old person was recovered from an under construction building in the area yesterday. The identity of the deceased could not be known as the body was in a mutilated condition. Its postmortem was conducted today.

The SHO said the deceased appeared to be a beggar. They had seized the belongings of the deceased, but his identity could not be revealed. He said the person had died due to severe illness as he could not get the required treatment. He said he had possibly died about three days ago as many parts of his body had started decomposing.
