Chandigarh: Chandigarh Lawn Tennis Association will organise the CLTA-AITA Championship Series (CS-7) Tennis Tournament from Saturday. The competition will be held in U-14 and U-18 age categories, the organisers said here on Friday. A total of 150 players have registered for the qualifying event, which begins on Saturday, they added. — TNS

Cricket trials tomorrow

Chandigarh: Chandigarh Cricket Association, affiliated to Punjab, will oragnise trials to select girls’ U-16 and U-19 teams on April 22 at Guru Nanak Public School, Sector 36. The trials will start at 4 pm, the sports body said here on Friday. The selected players will represent the city in the upcoming Punjab State Inter-District Cricket Tournament. Girls born on or after September 1, 2002, will be eligible to appear in U-16 trials, while those born on or after September 1, 1999, can participate in the U-19 trials. — TNS

Mohali U-19 cricket trials

Mohali: Mohali District Cricket Association will organise trials to select U-19 team for the upcoming Punjab Inter-District U-19 Tournament for Dhruv Pandove Trophy, on Saturday. The trails will begin at 8 am at the C Ground of IS Bindra PCA Stadium here, the sports body said on Friday. Players either studying or living in Mohali and born on or after September 1,1999, can participate in the trails. Participants should bring a photocopy of their birth certificate or a certificate from the respective institute confirming the date of birth to the venue. — TNS

Lamba elected treasurer 

Chandigarh: PS Lamba, secretary, Chandigarh Atya Patya Association, has been unanimously elected as the treasurer of the Atya Patya Federation of India. VD Patil is the new president, while Deepak Kaviwshar will hold the position of secretary general. The new office bearers have been elected for a four-year term. — TNS
